Just scrolling and thinking of home. I'm fully retiring end of October and home sick, especially for autumn. Heading down to go on a road trip with a friend in TX. We'll hit the higher elevations from AZ through NM, TX and into OK.
Looking forward to more writing, in addition to the monthly column I write for our local paper, and more time hiking the trails around here. More time with friends in Alaska and visiting my oldest, granddaughters and his wife' family in the Philippines in 2026.
Hope my classmates are all well and pleased with their life accomplishments and loving families. Take good care.
I was sad to hear of Carol's passing. Agreed with the memorial that Carol had a gift for making others feel seen and cared for. I emailed her about an upcoming visit to Norman by accident, then just reviewed the classmates' page.
Though I believe she is settled into a paradise, looking after her family from that unseen relm, I still miss thinking of her as being there to visit when I come through town.
Carol. How about post a photo. You take good pictures.
What a beautiful tribute to one of our classmates. I'm inspired by his lovely qualities of character.
The notice of Laura's passing just popped up in my email. Sorry about the loss. Laura was a wonderful image of our generation. So happy and full of energy. I was glad to read she was a teacher, passing that spirit onto the students. Glad to read about her family's devotion to her. Seems she had a rich life.
Classmates, please take care, stay safe, and stay connected.
Sorry to hear about Rhonda's passing. She was a sweet person, genuine in relationships and a person with a high sense of responsibility to her community - school community and, as an adult, her home community. I knew her in high school and admired her for these things. Enjoyed her smile and exchanges with her.
Elaine and I were friends and neighbors. Visiting her in her home, I found she had a lovely fmaily. I enjoyed her companionship at activities we did together. Sounds ilke her adult life was full of service and achievement and that would fit how I knew her, a peer with a generous heart.
