David Duane Sugg

David Duane Sugg of Moore, Okla., a member of the Norman High School Class of 1966, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016.

He was born on April 30, 1948, to Barney McCoy Sugg and Stella Lorene (Phipps) Sugg in Paris, Texas. After he graduated from Norman High, he served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was honorably discharged for services rendered to his country.

David was a musician at heart, from bands in high school to later in life. He played guitar and had a voice that will be remembered by many.

He loved spending time with family and friends, most of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

David is survived by his wife, Jade Sugg; two daughters, Jacquelin Pinkerton and husband, Jason, of Asheville, N.C., and Jennifer Brown and Todd Perkins of Norman, Okla.; two stepchildren, Cary Lamb and wife, Jennifer, of Tulsa, Okla. and Kristie Lamb, of Moore, Okla.; grandchildren, Maegan Brown, Madison Brown, John David Pinkerton, Jett Pinkerton, Garrett Lamb, and Reece Newberry; great-grandchildren, Aalyiah Brown and Adrian Brown; two sisters, Mary Williams and Clara Payne; two brothers, Charles Sugg and Leon Sugg; and many more family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Argel, Melvin, Buryl, Paul, Dewie, Ray, Calvin and Gary Sugg.

A memorial mervice for David will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 12, at CrossPointe Church in Norman. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, Okla.

Anyone who new David would certainly remember his love for music. One could certainly not forget that ever lasting smile. I'm proud to say he was a friend of mine and my brother Richard. The one thing that will always be with me is David's forever friendship. Want to say thanks for your service.
