Jim Busby

Jim Busby, a 1966 graduate of Norman High, passed away on Oct. 15, 2011. He was born on Oct. 30, 1948, in Henderson, Ky., to Sarah & James Wayne Busby Sr. Upon graduating from Norman High, Jim made Oklahoma his home and provided a warm & loving home for his family by working as an owner & operator for the restaurant and food service industry for many years.

Jim had a special love for dogs, enjoyed traveling, golfing, spending time at the lake, playing cards, and more than anything, OU football. He was a loving & devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Jim will be deeply missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons, Jason William Busby and wife, Sundee, of Edmond; and Jarrod Wayne Busby and wife, Jessica, of Ft. Worth; a brother, Scott Harrison and wife, Diane; a sister, Diane Dies; two grandchildren, Leighton Asher, Boston Warner and one more on the way; a former wife of 37 years, Dianne Busby, and countless other loving family and friends.

The family requests that donations be made to Free to Live Animal Sanctuary, P.O. Box 5884, Edmond, OK 73083-5884.

Carol Hickman (Haynes)

Jim was a sweet and kind friend of mine whom I remember many good times with. We grew up in church together and enjoyed many fun times on retreats and activities he was always so considerate and had a wonderful sense of humor. He is gone far too soon!
