Evelyn Burks Moore

Evelyn Moore, of Norman, a member of the Norman High class of 1966, passed away July 1, 2018, at the age of 70. She was born Feb. 15, 1948, in Norman to Lester and Sammie (Gass) Burks.

Evelyn was a homemaker and she lived for taking care of her family. She enjoyed being a grandma.  Evelyn loved teaching her pre-school Sunday School class. At one time, before having her children, Evelyn was a teacher. Family and church was her life. Evelyn was a cheerful and generous woman as well as a very devoted Christian.

She is survived by son, Christopher Moore & wife, Emily; granddaughter, Bella Moore; son, Brandon Moore & wife, Kimberly; brother, Lonnie Burks; and many other loving family members and friends. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Moore; and her parents, Lester & Sammie Burks.

Funeral services were held on July 7, 2018, at Lakeside Church of God in Norman. Interment was at Falls Cemetery in Norman, under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel in Moore.
